Last Minute, But Finished!

Months ago I looked over and ordered fabric online. Months ago I had good intentions of sewing something for ME. Months have come and gone and the piles of fabric still occupy my dining room table. My husband hinted that maybe something should be done about sewing supplies taking over the dining area. I kindly hinted back at the THREE guitar cases stuck in corners and multiple RC helicopters/airplane parts on top of my china cabinet! Case closed. That discussion, along with tomorrow being Mother's Day, did get my booty in order and motivated to sew at last. Although not for me as intended, I do think there will be enough leftover fabric to sew myself some sleep shorts or something!

I used a wide leg lounge pant pattern from the Amy Butler In Stitches book (that I've had for a year and never touched!) I made the pants cropped rather than full length.

This fabric is for my sister. Surprise! if you're reading this :) They are in the mail! I can see these lounge pants/pjs making visits out to check on baby chicks and collecting farm fresh eggs. Mmm...and later in summer picking a fresh peach from the tree and biting right into it. Remember to think of me !

These are for my mama. I loved the fabric more and more as I worked with it. I see them making a statement as she lounges on the deck sipping ice cold lemonade or a latte, listening to baby calves moo, the rooster cock-a-doodle-doo, and admiring the view of the farm.
The third pair I made are for my mother-in-law. The pictures don't do this fabric justice. It is such a cheery and bright orange. I adore it! I think she will too. It is perfect for anywhere she is lounging. I see crosswords being worked at the cabin all summer, enjoying a fresh cup of coffee at the casita in Mexico during winter, and visits across the country to each of her chickens
.

Happy Lounging and Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers in my life!
