Quack, Quack, Honk

The Bufflehead duck might possibly be the cutest duck I've ever seen! As if being adorable isn't enough, they are also very entertaining to watch. In fact, they have been my entertainment the past two days! I've had to peel myself away from the window and telescope to try and get something accomplished during naptime. Isn't that sad? My entertainment has come down to duck watching! Sad it may be, but I find myself very relaxed as I watch these little characters happily play in our backyard pond. Plus, I watch all I can, for I know they are only passing through. It will be another year before I see their cuteness again. We also had a pair of Goldeneye ducks yesterday.

And today our treat was two pair of Redhead ducks. We've never seen them visit us before, but would love for them to come back again!

The geese come every year, and as spring comes they will nest and be seen waddling around with their goslings. Watching them teach their young how to swim and fish is always fun. I just don't like the poop they leave around the pond. It doesn't make for a mess free walk with the twins and V. Thankfully they don't come into our yard....our dogs make sure of that!

Back to my duck watching.....I wouldn't want to miss anything!
